Detolfs are ideal if you collect and display 12" dolls, but because the case is so narrow, you can't really put two dolls in there without it looking cramped.
If you collect smaller scales, it leaves a whole mess of dead space that looks bad. About 2-3x more headroom than you really need or want. So if you want to fix that, then you need to buy risers, which again, start costing almost as much as your Detolf.
Pretty dumb if you need to buy shit that still doesn't fix the issues with the Detolf's unadjustability to suit your collection and that's what makes it a shit choice for most of /toy/
You're supposed to buy furniture that suits your needs, but instead, you're just buying any old shit because you're too poor to afford a proper display case. Then you're adding shit piecemeal because, because again: too poor, creating a hodgepog of shit that doesn't match. So you end up with a display case that looks like a chintzy antique shoppe thats about to go out of business because its run by a dying old woman and too many cats.
All because you're a poorfag who can't afford his hobby if he buys something else.
