Like, it's literally jut him passed through a cartoony filter. Before Animated there was Classics and... Alternator Grimlock. Energon Grimlock too I guess, but we only say bad things about that one.
So he looks like Grimlock, but bits that are from Animated, namely his head, also look good. Carrying over the huge underbite from dino mode was a great choice. The wide jaw and thin blue visor look fantastic.
So much gold paint used for that chest. Obviously in addition to all the other gold and burgundy highlights. He's got the clear chest piece that Hasbro can't seem to get right anymore. Not sure why they have so much trouble with it.
