>>8297840You know I had the same reaction to them at first. I thought they were sad and odd. And they're definitely still odd to me, but I'm just more curious if it would give me some endorphins, even if it's less than the real deal. I do have a serious boyfriend and we're planning on it (and yes he happens to be white). But we're trying to be responsible about it because I want to bring a baby into the world with the best and most stable start in life, and that is just going to take some time for us because we have an unusual situation for many reasons including corona. And finding a suitable guy is easier said than done these days. My guy is amazing but just comes with some logistical difficulties lol.
I don't think I'd go for the monkey but I can see how it would be cute to others. The grey alien I do not understand. Those used to terrify me as a child and make me uneasy to this day. Your response made me laugh a fair bit towards the end so thank you for that. And good luck with your baby (babies?) as well!
>>8298120This is kind of how I see it. Like similar to sex dolls but fulfilling a different need for a different group of people.
>>8298397I'd probably be most interested in the holding, but I'd also like dressing it up and shit.
>>8298468Yeah I'd never take it in public or show anyone. This would be purely therapeutic for me and also I do respect the craftsmanship of some of the most realistic ones. As an artist I can respect the absurdity of it too, and maybe as a conversation piece or put it in funny places in the house.
>>8298868Unfortunately most of my friends don't want children and the ones that have them live far away from me.
>>8299516I have a couple BJDs so I am aware of the weird psychoses people project onto their dolls, and referring to them like they are actual living people and talking for them and roleplaying them. I never participated in that and never will.
