It's like when you have physical money in your wallet vs using your debit or credit card, and you're less likely to make a purchase that you really don't need if you're using physical money. You put more thought by having a physical/visible good vs some abstract concept.
Also, because humans are such stupid fucking animals who like to hoard shit, having a tangible good to hold and take up space is going to hit that CONSOOMer itch better vs buying shit online and waiting a week to get it, which means you still haven't scratched that CONSOOMer itch, which makes you buy something else, because that thing you bought still hasn't come into your physical realm of taking up space.
Also also, seeing shit in person is super fucking important. Sometimes you see someone post some amazing thing, but in person, it's actually pretty disappointing.
Its like when everyone laughed and raved over rape woody, but most people sold that shit in a week because it's just a stupid meme and you realize it'll get old before you even open the packaging.
