>>7454322Short answer was PotP was originally planned for Voyagers to be able to upgrade into the bodies of the leaders frames hence why all the leaders had that matrix spot, but it was scraped early on likely due to the engineering nightmare of making them all compatible with each other, the second idea was to make all the classes merged together to make a super vehicle. We saw that they were rather unprepared with what to do with the final chapter even debating using the Overlord mold again as Primus and Fallen but I wager poor sales of the mold made them ditch that.
As for Trypticon it's not uncommon for planned parts to be engineered into the mold to be scraped later, many of the Thrilling 30 suffered this.
