Clawdeena9’s “Rainbow High is racist” agenda he’s been pushing for the last few videos really bothers me. MGAE has done so much for diversity in dolls way before it was trendy to be “woke”. Their leading doll line LOL Surprise has more nonwhite than white characters, so who cares if Rainbow High is mostly pale-skinned? Obligating racial quotas for every character lineup in popular media is dumb.
And no I’m not one of the racist anons, I’m 100% ok with LOL OMG having mostly brown characters. But bitching about skin tones is dumb and petty no matter the side. Also they don’t have “Eurocentric features”, they’re the same stylized cartoony faces that most non-Barbie dolls have.
I’m worried that a lot of more casual viewers of these videos are going to get the false idea that MGAE is a racist company when they’ve actually been one of the forerunners for toy diversity.
