Making heavily articulated figures is expensive compared to a lot of designer toys that are 1 or 2 molded pieces. A lot of these artists are doing incredibly small runs of figures and can't afford to take the risk on producing toys that require dozens and dozens of assembled pieces. It still happens though and there are a lot of independent creators using 3D printing to create cost efficient articulated figures. Even then very small figures made this way tend to push into the $60 - $90 range easily as its a lot of work. Also a lot of independent model kit creators that are worth looking into. Most of these designer figures are sold by virtue of the artist and their personal style, not because they are super poseable like Revoltechs. The industry is big enough for all kinds of toys, and all kinds of toy conventions.
