OP, Here's what you will be up against as far as the shoulder (see pic). Shaving it down won't give you that much more range of motion.
You'll also have to deal with weak joints since this is an early revoltech release, and the upper arms will most likely keep falling off the pin in the shoulder.
As someone who owns the figure I can say you're better of with either the MMS, or the Neuromancer.
