This whole Prime Wars thing seems to have been born out of the realization that the Third Party has een producing things that the fans haven't been getting from HasTak.
Hell, "Combiner Wars"? That's what fans had been calling the Third Party market back when everyone was doing Devastators and Bruticus upgrade kits and the like.
It looks like John Warden not only has a love for all things G1, but he also seems to be keeping an eye on the unofficial market in search of the next big hit.
There have also been times when Hasbro reached out to the fans deliberately, although not everyone has come out of these Fan Polls happy.
