1) JK Rowling made a lot of fans to abandon franchise. It feels stupid to say "yeah im a HP fan" if you are an adult.
Sure "She MaKes ThE TrOnOoOnS SeeThe:DDDD" but if you are older than 16 - it's nothing to be excited about.
It's a shitty scandalous old had that is a former shell of her past glory.
2) No new BIG and EXCITING things. That openworld hogwarts game was good looking but empty and super boring. Its worse than UBI-Slop
No new movies. And the new TV-series will have Snape being played bu a rapper-looking fit black dude which is like........replacing Sonic with Aardwark animal and pretending it will be popular.
So yeah.
It's a very popular franchise.
I would say it's this Planet Earth's big 5 money milking ones (in the same list as Disney and Nintendo with Pokemon).
But the lack of new interesting stuff connected to it makes it "underrated".
People usually like just 2 first movies as feel good movies of their childhood. + the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Everything else is utter shit (besides books) and it feels bad to openly admit you are a huge HP-fan.
