TNG is one of my favorite shows. I don't like OG Star Trek, despite sharing most of the same characteristics as TNG. I thought TNG was just better written, had a better budget, better developed characters, etc.
What you're doing is a false equivalence.
The designs for GoBots are still complete trash and that really isn't going to change, because it will be forever outdated, as it died back in the 80s after a few years. Whereas TFs actually updated over more years for its original run and have been updated to modern age. If OG Transformers were judged by their original looks, no one would really have fond memories, despite some of them being false because they probably remember it being better looking than it really was or thinking a later look happened earlier.
Just look at this piss weak art. It's better that they moved away from imitating the actual toys and original Takara art. Hasbro smart. Tonka dumb.
