Still, if the asking price on the Eva you're watching is anywhere near retail, I'd recommend just going for it and then seeing how you like the figure in-hand. I was seriously blown away by how nice the Eva was once I saw it for myself.
If there's a significant mark-up though, maybe wait and see what prices are like after the reissue is released.
