After pretty much every figma with metallic paintjobs on pieces of armor and weapons (off the top of my head some Nanoha ones, various Sabers, Samus, Animation Ninja Slayer) I was expecting exactly what we got.
Seems to me that you want everyone to be as disappointed as you with this figure, sorry to disappoint you (again) but that's not my case. If they totally fucked up the proportions, faces or whatever I will be as vocal as any other about those problems, but as far as paint goes this is what everybody should have expected from the very beginning.
If you want a shiny ass Gil you can always buy the Chogokin, it looks fine when displayed with figmas.
