Rankin/Bass did the Hobbit and Return of the King.
I love the Rankin/Bass Hobbit movie, and it's still my go to motion picture adaptation of the story.
The Bakshi movie is interesting, and I'd say worth a watch.
Due to being so abridged, there's less filler and OC material in them then PJ's movies had, and also had things that even the Extended cuts lacked. Aragorn's "You mean I feel fair but look fowl?" line for instance.
Yet at times it's also not as a good adaptation as the 2001 either.
