This image highlights my qualms.
For the binder sub arms, the added greeble/joint parts just makes the armor plate stick out. It should be flush when tucked away.
For the binder connectors themselves, I have circled a spot where 2 pegs seemingly hold the binders in a position. This is super lazy. All that extra detail and mass to make these things more detailed and functional, and there's just these 2 peg stops sitting there, breaking up the design. What's the point of all the "mechanical detail" if it doesn't actually look better?
Taking a sleek design and stuffing it full of greeble to where it looks bloated and won't function properly is not an improvement.
