Machinedramon was ripped from models resources (I think its the Digimon masters model) but if I printed with just the optimization steps it would've looked like shit. So I had to up the poly count, and sculpt the fine details as well as completely remodel most of the model using the ripped model and media as reference. I think I ended up putting a good 18 hours into optimizing, sculpting and remodeling before I had a model acceptable for printing. You can definitely skip most of those steps but your print will look blocky and shitty most of the time unless you want that aesthetic.
