They also have in-depth manual/box scans of model kits as well as the item's dimensions, and a fantastic cataloging system.
In addition, keep in mind that Amiami charges more for shipping than HLJ in general. This is because they pack the shit out of their boxes, including a forest's worth of packing paper and often bubble wrap the items on top of that. HLJ just shrink-wraps your shit onto a piece of cardboard and calls it a day. That's actually not that bad depending on what you buy -- model kits survive on the runners even if the boxes get fucked up, but most people buying from Amiami are buying plastic figures and those tend to get scratched or broken which can be a problem with HLJ's shipping.
Lastly, keep in mind that companies are working with only a few different types of boxes, so dimensions really will cock up shipping prices. I got Aoshima's MechaGoji kit + a Nendoroid from Amiami, and shat myself when SAL turned out to be 4425 for those two items. Box arrived today and it was pretty damn huge: MechaGoji's box is rather large on its own, so they had to ship my order in a longer box because they didn't have something deep enough. It might be the case that they're not charging you more based on the total weight, but because the box they're fitting it into is huge.
