>Weeks had passed since the Green Company's exit from the backyard. In the intervening time between the Company's departure and return to the chaparral suburbs, both Sarge and Jane were front and center to hear the formal announcement of more Green Army fortifications and reinforcements to be posted in the region. Sarge and Jane's Green Company was to be the first detachment of soldiers to occupy the new base, after which new orders were to be issued. The base was to be set somewhere in the area with little human occupation and the "strategic advantages of elevation, concealment, and natural fortification." The two sergeants, both now with more battlefield experience, kept watch over the surrounding suburbs as they awaited transport to the new base.
