I loved the books, but these were pretty shit. The big disappointment to me is that as actual Transformers, they do some neat stuff that would've benefitted future Beast formers had they kept up beast lines. All the beast modes are marked improvements over early beast wars toys, and the transformations do some interesting panel shifting to make the basic limb transformations more interesting.
The aliens were cool figures, too. Mainly the mega size Visser 3 and Ax.
