They may work as placebo for soccer moms, but no cop worth their salt is going to look at an orange tip and think "Oh, it's a toy, carry on." They have their own procedures to determine whether a gun is a toy or not. I swear the next person to go on a shooting rampage should paint all the tips of their guns orange just to demonstrate what a stupid law it is. Watch them walk around a school and teachers go "Ah, orange tip! Come out, children! All is safe!"
