>>7764510. Tamiya's 1/72 F-16. So far the detailing is really nice and the fit is overall great. Though to some degree the high standards make the minor things stand out a lot, like the slight seam between the halves for the gas bags, or the (easily removed) ejector pin marks on the missiles.
I cna see though why this kit seems to be a magnet for people muttering about Tamiya not making variants. Because it's so clearly engineered for different variants to be made. Separate air intake. Doubled up on many cockpit parts. The bit at the bottom of the fin isn't just a separate part, the ass end of it is in itself a separate chunk (a good thing for me). And probably a lot more. You're even told to fill in some surface detail in one spot where there's a panel that there apparently shouldn't be. yet quite a few years later no variants have been released. Did it just massively undersell or something?
