Warrior's steel look in the First Look Halo 4 video is still the best for me, but when it uses partially colored undersuits (red or blue) it's pretty solid then too, helps hide how much GEN2 exposes the undersuit.
I'm not sad it's gone and I'll probably like its redesign, but if most of GEN2 was like them it might have actually stuck around.
It also felt like a callback to CE Marines, but like they were making extra efforts to protect them since IVs are adults and many of them veterans. Sure there's the gold visor instead of green like the eye-piece, but that's fine for a Spartan/powered armor in Halo.
