>>7477753What about Unbox Industries? They put out tons and tons of great vinyl and are based out of Hong Kong.
What we have here is what I like to call the rubber duck theory. It's that functionally, even mass variance among vinyl toys keeps them all within a reasonable amount of similar. It's not like the difference between a stuffed animal and an action figure. It's not like the difference between a polystone statue and a hot toys figure. A rubber duck toy, despite not even being made of the same materials, is not that functionally different from say, this little deadly spawn sofubi. I see more variance in toys between people that collect little muscle figures and monster in my pocket type guys than I do in most vinyl collections, and it is a bit weird. Traditional Japanese sofubi might be the original, it might be the best, but it's been around for a long time and there's a ton of extremely similar final products out there regardless of the process.
