I originally wanted to get those postwar Lionel Lines green coaches to pair with my Turbine, but there were a ton of things keeping me from getting them
>They are PRICY as far as post-war Lionel rolling stock goes from what I've seen, like ~$150 for all 3 cars in well-used quality without the boxes
>Speaking of well-used good luck finding ones that have the yellow striping or green paint not chipped all over
>Reproductions are out of the picture (Even though I went with a Williams Turbine, their reproduction coaches are labeled Luxury Lines instead and just don't have that same charm)
Then I saw this set of coaches from the late 80s on ebay and went "Holy shit".
>Near-exact molds for the passenger cars barring a modified roof
>More than just two coaches and a observation car, you got a baggage, combine, vista dome, and dining car
>All of them were pretty much NIB
It was also at a pretty low bid, so I placed a bid of my own and won it for ~$110 shipped, which is pretty crazy for 7 O Gauge passenger cars. The only comoplaint about them I got is that the numbers printed on the side of the cars are pretty damn big, but it's not that big an issue. Putting them with the Turbine they're a perfect match for each other. Just need to actually get some track first.
