I don't own the modern one (if someone wants to buy it for me I won't say no) so I can't guarantee but it looks like that one may have tighter tolerances. Of note, Playmobil figures don't have bending knees so some seats may be awkward, especially flat ones which you have to switch your DTA joints to use. On the other hand, bending knees will let them fit into tighter spaces.
I would say Playmobil is a 7/10 match, some mileage may vary.
