As someone who only got into the character because of the Disney movie, getting into the comics was pretty hard because of how shite most of them are. The Looney Tunes parody with Daffy made me realize i only like the designs (and teh movie)... up to a certain point.
So getting the popular iconic stuff is pretty important if you want to start a line for it. Starting at the OG stuff would only kill interest and hype.
