No reason to limit yourself to one scale for reasons other than dexterity (if you're an old fuck larger scales are easier for your hands) or space available. And in most cases the "best" kit of any subject is also subject for debate, is it the most accurate? The one that goes best together? The one with most details? etc etc and it's rarely specified so unless it's a shit ass 1960s mold with no chance of fitting together it's not worth obsessing over
