>>6413363>200$ is quite the budget though!I come from the world of Blythe and Barbie haha. I finally found the perfect BJD and now I would like to find the perfect artist. Like you said, you are not only working hard to paint the dolls, but you're putting your health at risk here. I think it's a fair price to pay.
I completely understand why you would only want to work with a limited amount of people these days. Just from lurking the threads for about a year now, I've seen how poorly good faceup artists are treated. I'm not even surprised anymore when I see people leaving the hobby.
I'm from the US. The doll I have decided on is an Aerial BJD Aaliyah (pic related). Very pretty sculpt, although the default faceup leaves a lot to be desired. I am a fan of the glamorous makeup look (Fashion Royalty, Silkstone Barbie, etc.), so I'm looking for a BJD faceup artist who can nail that aesthetic. Any recommendations would be very much appreciated.
>>6413371>People act like 60$ buys them pure perfectionism sprinkled with gold, while the base price should actually be raised so that 60$ seems cheap.Exactly. Say it only takes you two hours to paint the doll. That's still only $30 an hour to be working with toxic paints and sprays on top of already making something beautiful. It just doesn't make any sense.
