The implication is that toy makers figured out to integrate the sculpts better with the articulation since the mid-00s. For some reason, shit is regressing, by using uglier more obvious engineering that isn't even more poseable than stuff from the late 00s.
Saying a toy's look doesn't matter is missing the point on why people want collector figures in the first place, since collector lines were created because collectors wanted more accurate/faithful toys.
Takara, being a children's toy company, doesn't give a shit about faithfulness and emphasizes play over form.
