>>6493605The not so good comes down chiefly to what's missing, namely the instructions for all but one of the rebuild ideas. This page of the instructions seems to indicate that they're at least available to download on the megaconstrux website but as yet I've been unable to locate them anywhere, and more puzzling is that the instructions for the helmet build follow on for the rest of the booklet.
One can take the stance that these rebuild ideas are meant to be visual inspiration like the alternate builds on Lego sets back in the day, but why then include the instructions for one and imply the rest are available somewhere? This gets more annoying when it comes to the pieces, some of which were included seemingly specifically for one of those rebuilds (part AM18296APD is used in the Booster Frame mini and nowhere else that I can tell).
This combined with how they display the contents on the box add up to missed opportunities. People are used to the Lego Creator line where all the pieces are used in the primary build and nearly all in the alternate ones, the primary build for this set uses maybe half and there's no sign of the rest on the box, other than in the rebuilds and the piece count. The rebuilds picture itself gives the impression that those ideas are expanded on in the set but only one of them is.
I think it could've helped to show a pile of parts alongside the main builds on the box, definitely should've had either a more specific download url or actual printed instructions for the rebuilds. Probably a lot of people will end up disappointed with the set based on the above, personally I'm satisfied with everything but the absent instructions but then again I have a ton of spare bits from Halo sets piled up over the years, combined with these parts there's plenty of MOC potential.
