It's true that old Barbie didn't have the articulation that modern MGA dolls have today, but they were quality dolls. They had long quality hair, soft well detailed outfits, that would fasten in the back with actual metal buttons instead of cheap velcro, and the doll didn't feel like you were holding a weightless, cheap feather in your hand. Most modern Barbie dolls have way less articulation now then they did in the 80s, and 90s. You have to buy a MtM doll that comes in a cheap basic Yoga outfit just to get a Barbie body that moves these days. Most basic Barbie dolls today have hollow greasy feeling plastic legs that don't bend, and a cheap hollow thick waist that doesn't twist.
