>Ben 10 (original series): 10 year old gets a 10-way transformation macguffin bound to him, and along with his cousin, who he doesn’t get along with, and their grandpa, go on a summer road trip and get repeatedly embroiled in various (mostly) alien related conflicts.
Semi serious kids show. Generally agreed to be amongst the best of the 00’s era kids cartoons.
>Alien force: That same kid as a 15 year old puts the macguffin back, gets 9(-ish) remixed forms, and sets out to uncover and stop a sinister conspiracy/invasion of body-snatching/disguised genocidal Alien supremacists. Accompanied by his Magic powered cousin and a semi-reformed former Nemesis with absorbing-man powers.
Five years later continuation of the original series, slightly more serious tone and aimed at teenagers. Definitely distinct from the first in terms of formula and tone, but pretty solid as a series.
>Ultimate alien: Direct follow up series to Alien force, more of just a second chapter of the same series then a fully different thing. Less centralized plot, at least 3 different major plot arcs, and a lot more one-off adventures. Quite a few additional transformation forms show up over the course of it.
Slightly more mixed reception. I personally felt most of it was pretty good, though the final arc kind off got up it’s own ass towards the end.
