Let's be real here, Marvel never recovered from the Image Comics walkout.
They had some planned out story arcs, pitches and a handful of good writers left that held them up a few years longer but by the end of the decade they were done. Perlmutter's 'streamlining' the company and thereby getting rid of most editors effectively killed canon and continuity.
If it weren't for the phase 1 mcu they would have folded then and there.
from then on all you have is mostly slop, an empire left to lesser sons of greater kings.
