I only hate the models, because why buy weird looking sculpts when you can buy an already made durable accurate looking toy and add paint to that to spruce it up?
To build one of these takes way more effort and actually requires quite a bit of skill and proper tools to make it look good
BTW, i've been building minis for three decades and i still would suggest for complete n00bs to buy a model when all they want is a toy to play with. models ≠ toys. They're two different things and to say that they're interchangeable is pretty dishonest.
