>>8077533It also helps when a figure also gets a good repaint. I like the Siege Prime mold, but if the Cell Shaded version never came out, I’m not sure I’d own it. Transformers has tons of source material and adaptations to pull from to make each mold unique, so even making the mold into a new or different character can also be a great way to make each mold worth owning.
But I’m weird in the sense that I don’t actually care for any of the Transformers media, so I’m just in this for the toys as toys, not shelf-filling representatives of my memories of some decade old commercial, so I probably represent a small minority of consumers.
