>>10136188I am going to be gluing on faux fur a clump at a time. I was inspired by this Kong figure (as mentioned here
>>10111886). I've spoken to the creator about his technique, and it's something I think I can replicate. The fur is some kind of synthetic cordage that's been cut up and separated into individual fibers, and then superglued on one layer at a time starting from the feet and then working upwards. He used multiple colors of cordage fibers, and also used black and brown sharpies to add some additional color variation. It's a very long, time consuming process that requires a lot of ventilation but I was very impressed by what I've seen.
His Kong is made out of a 16" Rampage George, whereas mine is made from a Playmates 11" Kong and a 12" Disney store Hulk. My Kong will only be 12" so I will have less area to cover. His Kong is in-scale with 1:12 figures whereas mine is Monsterverse, although it's also big enough to be in-scale with 1:18 figures, and his alternate left hand is the perfect size for holding a female 1:18 figure. I'm thinking of assembling a team of 1:18 Skull Island explorers, and getting some Jurassic Park dinosaurs to stage scenes with.
