>>9950212While I agree I prefer the design ethic of older Hot Wheels, the wheel "bearings" are just a separate plastic sheath that does nothing to affect friction; it's still plastic on metal. And the torsion bar suspension arguably makes cars roll worse because the wheels are never true. Modern hot wheels definitely roll better, AND straighter. As for detailed underbodies, I have a Custom Eldorado on my desk right now and there's nothing on it at all.
Ironically, the era of hot wheels that has the most detailed undercarriages probably started around the '90s, which is when they began using plastic more.
