And I agree that in Origins the female proportions aren't as jarring, aside from the weird tiny heads.The original prototype was very Frazetta-inspired, with what became a modest leotard originally being bikini bottoms held up by a piece of disc-shaped jewelry. Unlike the typical Frazetta painting, she did have boots. They were expecting to get away with a naked chest because Teela was going to have a gold top with ornate swirls and the Sorceress/Goddess would be sold separately with the hooded cobra top.
