For example the engineering has skyrocketed on the figures and the painted spots are always painted well.
Those things are all easy to mass produce with acceptable QC.
Paint on the otherhand is take more time and effort, and is very noticable when fucked up. Putting the effort into accuracy and engineering while mass producing under tighter deadlines with tighter QC has been a much better payoff in my opinion.
TL,DR I think we get better engineered figures and 10x as many figure nowadays for an inflated but adjusted more, and no longer get one release a year with very nice paint and lackluster engineering.
