Most collectors only like one doll type, maybe two, rarely more.
It's difficult to manage such a mixed community and keep it alive too.
It usually ends up with a few areas being very active and some totally dead, and when it's really bad you have groups in one forum that don't interact with each other because they are just too different.
We actually had that with our local doll forum too, that's how our BJD-only forum was born.
It's not only DoA, it's the same with every forum.
You have one major topic (a certain game, a certain hobby) and maybe something like the Brigadoon for people to do smalltalk and get to know each other.
Again, I do agree that some off-topic dolls are on that list for silly reasons.
Especially in regards to the weird creatures DZ/DC does, or pets.
However, I doubt it will stay like that forever.
I am glad we have DoA.
I had hobbies where I could have killed for such a big forum, and I honestly don't envy the mods.
I did that work in the past and know how much it can suck.
Am glad they didn't abandon it yet, because it's really difficult to get a forum that big in a short time.
