Nearly every Transformers toy after G1 not only has references to G1 in their designs, story, gimmicks etc but there's also this line that's been going on for 10 years called Masterpiece. Just because poorfags can't afford MPs doesn't mean that HasTak weren't catering to that collectors market.

Classics was just updating the older transformers figures to a modern standard whilst keeping the design philosophy of the old franchise i.e. making transforming robots out of convincing looking toy vehicles (hence robots in disguise).
