Ugly double joints are the most widespread trade off of sculpt for articulation. Pic related is about the ugliest I've seen but there are many more that are less offensive. Ball wrists and ankles that are not hidden are another. Butterfly joints and ab crunches that break up the midsection are another. The more of these a figure has, the more it moves towards focusing on articulation over a good looking sculpt.
Many of the companies you listed there have ugly double jointed knees and elbows, many of them have ball wrists and ankles, most (all?) have ab crunches, many have butterfly joints. Modern McFarlanes for example actually usually have all these (and more)
