You can buy a $600 combiner set at chinese and japanese retail. These are stocked at western collector stores. The majority of domestic lines still sell out the moment they hit shelves because of scalpers regardless of the quality, as long as they fit on someone's shelf.
The only "fear" anyone should feel is that domestic toys are approaching the same price that imports are, or over the line of being worth it for many collectors. It's a personal problem on a personal basis that will just cause people to buy less or do things like buying older toys or things they skipped in the past, or dipping their toes into other lines they may not have tried before. This is much more of a problem with everything of value being exclusives, or exclusives being required to complete a squad or shelf, and most people outside of the states being locked out of anything but ebay scalpers.
I type this knowing full well this will become a brand war thread in minutes.
