Funny story, the artist originally planned for her to be an actual, factual T-Rex, but their editors decided the characters needed to be turned into dinosaur/human monstrosities to compete with the monster girl market. The manga only lasted 2 years because of the change both killing sales and killing the artist's motivation (Sanzo was known for drawing female monsters, not monster girls). Pic related is what Churio was originally planned to look like, as seen in Sazo's original oneshot.
