>>7393988He's a moron that wants to make TRU going out of business just simply the result of Bain Capital instead of focusing on the big issue of only 35% of the merchandise in TRU selling, which is endemic of a larger problem within the toy industry. Why was 65% of everything in the store not selling? A significant portion was from baby toys, cloths, and furniture not selling, because stores like Wal-Mart could afford to sell those things at a lower price and take a hit financially, because they could make up the difference elsewhere. There was also a glut of shitty toys on the market in the past few years, hurting the industry. And there was also too many stores open. The number of stores made sense in the 90's when the toy industry was still doing well, but not currently. When they closed a bunch of stores around Christmas time, it forced customers to travel a little farther to locate a TRU, but it put customers in the stores instead of having a handful of sales spread out across multiple locations. In fact it was reported we had record sales at Christmas time, yet it still wasn't enough.
Between the large number of stores that were open, and shitty toys on the pegs, the stores were often described as ghost towns. Nobody but adults was buying Star Wars and they didn't want any of the stuff that was out., and we had a huge Star Wars section. Also nobody was really buying much of the DC stuff, at least not Justice League since the movie bombed, and there was a bunch of Wonder Woman shit floating about in the store. Movie Tie-Ins pretty much did in the industry.
