They don't put any thought into it beyond Carnage is a monster and that's why a mouth exists there.

Nah, they've literally argued that Carnage's mouth is an actual mouth and even shown pictures showing a gigantic mouth with no head inside. They're arguing against the fact that the pink part is flat and hiding Kletus' head behind it, despite evidence from multiple comics, by multiple artists, over multiple years, including the line art by Bagley, and the comics' stories themselves.
So again, they're not saying it, but that's what their beliefs amount to. Nothing but willful ignorance about the character and the comics he comes from.
Again, you're only proving you're covering your ears when the fact is this pink stuff is pretty much just a lycra mask. The stories themselves establish that the symbiote is just draping over the human and isn't morphing the human himself, nor sending his head to a mysterious dimension.
