I'm putting together a Futuron Monorail System which was released in '87. It isnt as pretty as modern sets, but GODDAMN can you hear and feel the pieces actually SNAP together. I cant believe I had forgotten how durable Lego pieces used to be, and this set is reminding every time I connect a new piece.
Conversely Ive been putting together and messing with a few 3 in 1 creator sets in the past couple weeks, and going back to them Ive noticed how much more brittle and cheaply built they are.
It's only cemented to me how ridiculously overpriced modern Lego is. Dont let shills, resellers, or scalpers tell you otherwise.
