The Kilo-Five post-war trilogy featured a prominent Skirmisher character to cement their introduction to the lore, but they still remain fairly obscure. Still waiting for Mega to make that one Skirmisher variant with the energy pauldrons that could be so annoying to headshot, heh.
Drones first came out with the Reach sets, notably one of a tractor-trailer, Jorge and Noble 6. At this time the only "species" without Mega representation is the Engineers, would be nice to have a Vergil/Quick to Adjust and a Lighter than Some for reasons.
