>>9286008You can do as much or as little photoetch as you want but the more you do the longer you'll be working. Some of the really small stuff can drive you mad due to how difficult it is to handle. Pic related, my current project with a toothpick for scale.

I tried (and failed) filling it with sprue cuttings and TET.I find that a major part of what makes ships 'fun' is figuring out the order of operations, determining what should be painted and glued in what order. It's like a gigantic 3D jigsaw puzzle that you also need to paint, and if you put it together too quickly you're going to have a real cunt of a time painting it properly. If you paint things too early, you're going to have a real cunt of a time sticking them together without ruining the paint. It's fun.
