>FansprojectBoth. FP got the ball rolling and was top dog for a long while. They too were improving bit by bit. Any one of their modern releases is still light years beyond Defender. Despite fun releases, actual donutsteels, and generally doing whatever they wanted like the Glacialbots, FP started to get outclassed by the time Revolver came out. Their Dinobots have been particularly sloppy in design oversights and engineering. Madlaw's was a design that seemed like it should never have got out the concept phase. The Dinoking/Monstructor bits aren't really impressive for the same reason as the FP Dinobots. Plus they're jewing hard on the shells. Function X is the only thing left that shows some bit of initiative. Maketoys seems to be picking up the FP slack, but mostly because they share the same designer or two.
